"The Homecoming"

"She is to meet her future husband at the altar in the old church. There's a
terrible storm that night, making her lose control of her car and crash into the
huge tree at the bottom of the hill. Noting that she's not far from the church
and that her fiancé is already there awaiting her arrival, she decides to walk
the rest of the way, taking a shortcut through the dark, creepy woods. As she comes
closer, she hears the church tower clock strike. She becomes more restless, determined
to get there on time... not realizing that she's already dead."
One of my favorite painting techniques is an Oriental approach I learned many years
ago from an artist of Chinese descent. I so love the technique that I use it for
nearly half of my non-Haunted Studio paintings. After wetting and crumpling the
special paper I use, I open it up and begin to apply paint. The paint flows into
the valleys of the wrinkled paper and lodges in the creases, creating its characteristic
look. This technique defies overplanning, almost requiring me to just let things
happen, to allow the painting to tell me how it wants to develop. That's precisely
what happened here, so I cannot say I planned this one as carefully as my other
Haunted Studio subjects. It just planned itself, as I've explained, and I had to
go with it.
All I can say is that this one gives me the creeps.

Small Print size is 4.5" x 6.5" within an 8" x 10" charcoal-over-white double mat,
with rigid backing. This size is ideal for framing in any standard 8" x 10" photo frame.
Medium Print size is 7.5" x 9.5", double matted (charcoal over a white liner),
backed with rigid foam-core board, ready for framing in any readily available 11" x 14"

Large Print size is 12" x 18" on 13" x 19" paper. After I carefully
inspect and sign your print, I'll slip it into its protective clear plastic envelope
and carefully roll it for mailing to you, together with a page of helpful framing

Premiere Limited Edition Print size is 17" x 24" on 22" x 28" paper.
This is one of a growing series of Limited Edition prints duplicating each painting's original size
in an edition of 150 signed and numbered prints, produced to extremely high standards on fine art paper,
through the Giclée process.
