"From The Shadows At Nevermore Point"

A dreamy, surreal quality pervades this melancholy painting. I realized, after
completing it, that it is laden with symbolism, much of which I am at a loss to
verbalize. Have you noticed the onlookers in the shadows of the portico?
When I finally scanned this painting for The Haunted Studio, I could hardly wait
to learn what collectors would have to say about it. This is from Heather Cullman.
Interestingly, her interpretation is entirely different from my own.
See for yourself. Here it is, slightly edited:
"Like all men upon first encountering her leaning into the ocean wind on the
rotting veranda of the long-abandoned McGill mansion, he is struck speechless
by her haunting face... her gypsy-wild ebony tresses... her piercing dark eyes
that mutely beseech, "Are you my lost love? Are you the one?"
"He knows, this windswept October night at Nevermore Point, that he has fallen
under the spell of the fabled Sarah McGill, who (as legend has it) awaits the
return of her lover, long ago drowned in a storm at sea.
"Having already pledged his love, he now offers her his life, never suspecting
that in doing so, he will soon take his place as the thirteenth suitor to gaze
at his love longingly, eternally, from the shadows at Nevermore Point."
Wow! I loved it! Of course, you will bring to it your own thoughts, dreams,
memories, experiences. Your interpretation will likely be something else entirely.
But isn't that one of the most wonderful aspects of art?

The medium print size is 7.5" x 9.5" within a charcoal-over-white
double mat, plus rigid foam-core backing, ready for framing in any readily available 11" x 14"
